RYA radar courses, run onboard Satsuma using a live radar system, Course includes one days instruction by a RYA trained qualified instructor.

The course includes additional exercises over and above the course work and is  carried out at sea including

1. Radar three point fix

Using compass, chart and radar only determine your position and plot to chart using radar information

2. Demonstrate and use radar proximity alarm and range alarms

Using just radar to act as an anchor alarm

3. Track a course

Using just radar chart and compass to identify buoys and track a course

4. Practical demonstration of radar reflectors
